There are nine people on trolleys at University Hospital Waterford on Monday (July 9), according to the latest trolley and ward watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
The nationwide figure is 292, a decrease of 10% on the same day last year when there were 326 patients on trolleys.
The hospitals with the highest numbers on Monday are University Hospital Limerick (48) and Letterkenny General Hospital (35).
There are 12 people on trolleys at South Tipperary General Hospital, while Wexford General Hospital and Kilkenny’s St Luke's Hospital have no patients on trolleys.
