Waterford Muay Thai enjoyed considerable success last week with six young competitors representing Ireland in the World Youth Championship in Bangkok in Thailand.

They competed against opponents from 84 different countries and brought home three medals, including Ireland's first ever World Championship gold thanks to Kinga Pietraszak. You can watch Kinga's final victory in the video at the head of this article.

Kinga was in commanding form throughout the tournament and claimed her gold medal after beating a Thai opponent in the 46kg division. She won on a 30-27 points decision in an absorbing contest.

Elsewhere, Zoey Croke and Chloe Black won silver in their respective divisions after some spectacular fighting, one that included a spectacular semi-final final from Zoey where she won by head kick knockout in the 2nd round against Thai opposition.

Also representing Waterford Muay Thai and Ireland at the competition were Jodie Fagan, Daniel Fagan and Eric Pietraszak.
