Waterford's Thomas Barr has booked his place in another European Championships final after the semi-finals of the 400m hurdles in Berlin on Tuesday evening.
Olympian Barr looked in trouble early on as he slumped to fourth on the track in his semi-final run, but he produced his usual strong finish to book an automatic final spot.
He finished second behind Yasmani Copello on Turkey. His time of 49.10 was the seventh-fastest of the qualified athletes from the semi-finals, sending him straight to Thursday's decider.
The final is set to be a close contest as the fastest time from the semi-finals was 48.67 set by Norway's Karsten Warholm.
Thomas told David Gillick afterwards on RTE that he was happy with the run and that he was looking forward to the final. The final takes place at 7.15pm on Thursday evening.
