Cousins to host exciting Waterford event on Culture Night

Diving for Pearls opens in Dungarvan on Culture Night

Culture Night (September 20) sees the opening of an exciting new exhibition called Diving for Pearls by two first cousins at the Old Market House Arts Centre in Dungarvan, County Waterford.

The exhibition features work by Sinead Ní Chionaola, a landscape artist originally from Dungarvan, and glass artist Helen O’Connell. This will be the first time both cousins will host a joint exhibition of their work.

Both artists have a deep interest in the inner and outer landscapes of life, and acknowledge that while these landscapes are often dark,  “no grit – no pearl!” This interesting perspective has inspired their joint collection, which has been especially curated for Culture Night and will run until the end of October.

The Arts Centre is open from 6.30-9pm on Culture Night with a special bi-lingual gallery talk by Sinéad and Helen at 7.30pm. All are welcome to this free event.
