Waterford theatregoers are in for a treat this Saturday (February 2) when Kilkenny-based theatre company Red Alchemy's Vincent - A Play by Leonard Nimoy comes to Garter Lane Arts Centre.

After hugely successful performances in Kilkenny, Mullingar, Thurles and Wexford, an audience in Waterford now has the opportunity to experience the glorious art and life of Van Gogh in Garter Lane Arts Centre this Saturday at 8pm before it moves on to theatres in Portlaoise and Dublin.

In this Irish première, against the visual backdrop of over 100 of his greatest masterpieces, director Christine Scarry and actor Peter McCamley gloriously recreate the world of the misunderstood genius, giving the audience a moving insight into the turbulent life and times of the great painter. Critics have described the play as 'a theatrical triumph'.

“Anyone who loves art, passion and life itself should see this play. It is a renewing experience and an insight into one of history’s most gifted, haunted masters," director Christine Scarry tells Waterford Live.

Tickets are available from Garter Lane
