Waterford band to star at Tipperary Trad festival

Waterford Traditional Irish Group “Danú” will play a concert as part of the Newport Trad Fest, Newport, Co. Tipperary on Saturday, December 8 at The Freigh Inn, O’Sullivan’s Bar, Newport.

Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are €15 and are available from Sweeney’s Shop, Newport and through private message on the Newport Trad Fest Facebook Page.

For over two decades Danú's virtuosi musicians and vocalists have delighted audiences worldwide. Danú takes its audiences on a traditional Irish music journey offering a moving and memorable concert experience. With nine albums and a DVD to their name, this concert is one show not to be missed.

The concert is part of a busy musical weekend in Newport. On Friday night, December 7 an opening concert will take place in Newport Church at 7.15pm featuring “The Thomas McDonagh Pipe Band” and local musicians, choirs and dancers.

On Saturday, December 8 music workshops will take place in Newport Community Centre and a “Trad for Teens session” will take place in Lees Bar at 4pm.
