This prestigious event will gather over 40 eye care professionals from Ireland, the UK and the Nordics, who will participate in interactive clinical workshops and discussions, with an opportunity to engage with industry-leading experts.

Following this, there will be an exclusive tour of Bausch + Lomb Waterford’s state-of-the-art contact lens manufacturing facility.

Advances in multifocal contact lens technology will be discussed at the conference. This type of technology offers a promising vision correction solution, which has the potential to enable people to see clearly at all distances without the need to rely on glasses.

Petra Vacca, Business Unit Director, expressed her enthusiasm for the conference, saying: “We are delighted to host an international conference in Waterford, which has been home to Bausch + Lomb for more than 40 years and employs well over 1,500 people.

“We chose Waterford for this event given the importance of this plant globally for Bausch + Lomb and eye care professionals, as it is increasing its capacity by adding multiple production lines to manufacture innovative contact lenses.

“This conference provides a unique opportunity to bring leading eye care professionals together and by collaborating, we can introduce the advanced technologies to patients and together help more people see better to live better.”
