Donaghy told Waterford's club website: "I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a good opportunity for myself. I know about the club from Fleetwood and I know Barry [Baggley] and Chris [Conn-Clarke] so it’ll be good to see a few familiar faces.
"My goal is to get into the team and stay in the team, that’s why I’m here. I’m mid-season in Fleetwood so I’m match fit which will hopefully help me with the club.
"It’s all about fighting for a place in the team and that’s what I’m going to do. I’ve heard really good things about the club and can’t wait to get started this week."
Danny Searle's side kick off their campaign in Ferrycarrig Park at 7.45pm.
