SETU will have a strong presence two national events including the National Ploughing Championships in Co Laois and Higher Options at RDS again this year.

Around 300,000 people are expected to descend on Ratheniska, Co Laois for this year’s National Ploughing Championships, which takes place from 19 to 21 September.

SETU’s presence at the national event provides an opportunity to network with industry across Ireland, while showcasing the University’s expertise to thousands of visitors over a three-day period.

There will be a range of engaging activities at the SETU marquee, including interactive games and puzzles designed to make math and science enjoyable. Visitors can also try out a Watt bike, participate in competitions to win spot prizes, learn about the beer brewing process, and even enjoy mocktails with a live demo.

SETU will showcase its technological strengths with demonstrations from Bengie, the telepresence robot, a USV drone boat, sumo bots, and various student projects.

Representatives from a wide variety of disciplines including sport science, nursing, computing, design, engineering, land sciences, science, humanity, and business among others will be on hand to interact with the public and to answer questions about SETU.

Attendees are being encouraged to pop into SETU’s marquee to see all that the University has to offer. SETU’s stand will be located at block 3, row 18, stand 306.

Higher Options

The foremost annual education expo for second-level students takes place in RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin next week.

The Irish Times, in partnership with the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, encourages students to have important one-to-one conversations with college representatives and information bodies, in addition to offering a full programme of talks.

SETU will have one of the biggest stands at Higher Options, which runs from 20 to 22 September. The focus at Higher Options is to promote CAO undergraduate courses to the 30,000 sixth years attending the event from across Ireland.
