World Darts Championship: Irish player to feature on opening night
You know the Christmas season is truly underway when the PDC World Darts Championship is upon us.
This evening marks the opening night of the tournament as 96 players compete over the course of 28 sessions in 17 days for a punt at the biggest major in darts.
Meath man Keane Barry will be the first player from the south to take to the Alexandra Palace stage when he comes up against South African Grant Sampson today.
The 20-year-old will aim to get through his first round clash around 8pm tonight - live coverage on Sky Sports Darts from 6pm.
Tomorrow (Friday) sees Limerick native William O'Connor begin his tournament against talented 18-year-old darts player Beau Greaves at 8pm.
The World Darts Championship will be live on Sky Sports throughout Christmas.
