Limerick owner JP McManus celebrates thrilling third Aintree Grand National success

Racecourse owner JP McManus celebrated his third Randox Aintree Grand National success on Saturday when I Am Maximus won the world's most famous steeplechase in Liverpool.

The winner was ridden to success by Paul Townend and is trained by Willie Mullins.

I am Maximus, the 7-1 joint favourite, surged ahead in the closing stages with fellow Irish-trained runners Delta Work finishing second, Minella Indo third and Galvin fourth.

JP McManus' previous wins in the Aintree Grand National were with Don’t Push It (2010) and Minella Times (2021).
