Pre-season is well and truly underway at Waterford soccer club Carrick United.
Pre-season is always an energy-sapping, soul-destroying cycle of hard running and sprints, but this Waterford club has taken it up several notches.
The 1A squad from Carrick United have been battling their way up the gruelling hills of Seskin Wood, building fitness and team spirit ahead of the upcoming season.
As you can see in the video below, Seskin Wood is no ordinary experience. The players have to contend with large stones, uneven gravel and wet muddy conditions.
There'll be no BBQ or beer bellies for Carrick when they take the field for a friendly away to Old Bridge in Clonmel on Thursday (July 26) at 7pm.
