The number of patients on trolleys in Waterford on Monday (July 23)

There are five people on trolleys and the ward at University Hospital Waterford on Monday.

There are five people on trolleys and the ward at University Hospital Waterford on Monday (July 23), according to the latest trolley and ward watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The nationwide figure is 343, an increase of 22% on the same day last year when there were 281 patients on trolleys. The hospitals with the highest numbers on Monday are University Hospital Limerick (61) and Cork University Hospital (45). 

Other figures for Monday include South Tipperary General Hospital (23), Wexford General Hospital (1) and Kilkenny's St Luke's Hospital (11).
