RIP: Pedestrian (30s) dies after being hit by bus on busy N7 motorway as gardaí issue appeal

A man in his 30s has died after being struck by a bus on the busy N7 motorway on Saturday afternoon, gardaí have confirmed.

The fatal crash happened near Kill, Co. Kildare at around 3.30pm between junctions 7 and 8 eastbound.

The pedestrian was rushed to Tallaght University Hospital with serious injuries but later passed away.

A post-mortem will be arranged at a later date.

The driver of the bus, also a man in his 30s, escaped unhurt, while two passengers on board were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The road has been closed in both directions for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and will remain shut overnight, with diversions in place.

In a statement, gardaí appealed for witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage from the area to come forward.

"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward," they said.

"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time of the collision are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí."
