Man in his 40s arrested after Gardaí find 3D printed gun and drugs in his home

Gardaí have seized a firearm and a quantity of controlled drugs following a search of a property in Ballymun, Dublin 9 yesterday evening,  Wednesday October 22, 2025.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of drugs and related criminal activity in the area, members from the Ballymun Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Ballymun at approximately 8:00pm.

During the course of the search, Gardaí seized a 3D-printed firearm, approximately €300 of suspected diamorphine and €1,680 of suspected Zopiclone tablets (subject to analysis).

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) North.

Investigations are ongoing.
