Man (80s) in critical condition following serious assault in Tipperary Town

Investigations are ongoing

An elderly man has been left in critical condition after a serious assault in Tipperary Town

Gardaí are investigating this incident, which occurred at St Michael’s Avenue on Friday, September 12 at approximately 9:35pm.

The man, aged in his 80s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he is in critical condition, it has been confirmed.

The scene was preserved for a technical examination to be carried out and Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Anyone who was in the area of St Michael’s Avenue between 7pm and 10pm and has video camera footage (including dash-cam), is asked to make it available to Gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Tipperary Town Garda Station on 062 80670, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

Investigations are ongoing.
