Suspected arson attack on house being renovated in Limerick

GARDAI are investigating after a suspected arson attack on a house that was being renovated in Limerick city.

The blaze at a property on the Hyde Road was reported to emergency services at 3.30am this Sunday morning. Three appliances from Limerick Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene.

The firefighters returned to base after extinguising the fire shortly after 4am. Limerick Live understands that the house, which was undergoing improvement works, was extensively damaged in the blaze.

A garda spokesperson said gardai were alerted by local fire services after fire damage was caused to a house under construction on Hyde Road, Limerick in the early hours of this morning, Sunday, October 20.

"Enquiries are ongoing," said a garda spokesperson.
