RTÉ presenter Tracey Clifford has opened up to Miriam O'Callaghan about her fertility battle and endometriosis.

The popular presenter gave a very honest account of her own difficulties, caused by 'silent endometriosis', which Tracy said is anything but silent.

She told Miriam on RTÉ Radio 1: “After all these years of trying, that was the missing piece.

“And it’s not silent, though. Like, we’re calling it silent endometriosis, it means you’re not in screaming pain every month. It’s very loud, it’s affecting your fertility.

“Through my research I discovered that 47% of people who have unsuccessful fertility journeys, it’s endometriosis. People think you have to be in pain, and you really don’t. It’s completely nuanced, really.

“There’s so many different areas and levels of endometriosis that we just don’t know about.”

Show presenter Miriam said: "Endometriosis and infertility are hugely important issues in so many lives, but not spoken about enough. That’s why I applaud presenter Tracey Clifford for her courage and willingness to speak so openly about her own particular circumstances with both earlier today to me".

"By speaking out so courageously, on both endometriosis and infertility, Tracy is making such a difference to many lives," Miriam added.
