Gardai say the local Coroner has been notified and a that post-mortem examination will take place in due course
A teenage boy who was seriously injured in a road crash in Waterford city last weekend has died in hospital, gardai have confirmed.
In an update, issued this Friday evening, they say they are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the collision, involving a car and an e-bike, which occurred on Cork Road (R680) in Waterford City at approximately 7:45pm last Sunday, November 16.
"The cyclist, a male aged 18 years, who was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of serious injuries has since died," said a garda spokesperson who added that the local Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The scene of the collision was the subject of technical and forensic examinations last weekend.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
Any road users with camera footage, including motorists with dash-cam footage from the area at the time, are asked to provide it to investigating gardaí.
