A motorist who was caught speeding close to a primary school in County Waterford has been fined and will received penalty points on their driving licence, gardai have revealed.
Highlighting the detection, which was made earlier this week, gardai say members attached to the Waterford County Community Engagement unit were on duty when they encountered a silver Volkswagen Arteon which was being driver at 86km/h in a 50Km/h zone close to the school.

The detection, they added, was made on Wednesday morning close to the village of Rathgormack, just outside Carrick-on-Suir.
In a post on social media, they confirmed a fixed charge penalty notice was issued to the driver of the car after it was stopped.
The offence also attracts penalty points and if the fine is not paid, court proceedings will be initiated.
