Plans to turn old Waterford Crystal showroom into medical facility gets green light
Plans to transform an old Waterford Crystal showroom and office building into a medical facility has been given a green light by Waterford City & County Council.
Veonet Ltd applied for permission to make internal changes to the 795 sqm tenant office space to the provision of medical clinical services and associated facilities.
The building is the former Waterford Crystal Offices and showrooms on the Cork Road, Kilbarry, Waterford city. Veonet already operate medical centres specialising in eyecare in Belfast, Cork, Dublin and Carrickmines.
The permission for the change of use has been granted with four conditions.
One of the conditions states that "no advertisement signage or advertisement structure(s), including those which would otherwise constitute exempted development under the Planning and Development Regulations, 2001 (as amended), shall be displayed without a prior grant of planning permission."

The council says this condition being applied to the permission is "in the interests of the proper planning and sustainable development of the area."
