Plans have been revealed for major extensions to three schools in Waterford city.
A planning application has been submitted for an extension to the Holy Family Junior School and Our Lady of Mercy Senior Primary School on Military Road.
The application, which was submitted by Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan, details plans for the construction of three new single-storey buildings.
Two of these buildings will cater for the Holy Family Junior School. The first will be a special educational needs classroom, while the second will be divided into three mainstream classrooms.
A special educational needs classroom is also planned for the Our Lady of Mercy Senior Primary School.

As well as that, two fenced soft play areas, each 50m² in size, will be constructed.
In addition, new fences and gates are proposed for the playground of Our Lady of Mercy Senior Primary School.
A number of associated site and ancillary works will also be carried out.
The Holy Family Junior School caters for Junior Infants to 2nd Class, while the Our Lady of Mercy Senior Primary School is for 3rd to 6th Class.
The application was submitted to Waterford City and County Council on December 18. A decision is expected to be made by February 20.
Meanwhile, a planning application has also been made for an extension to St Mary's National School in Ballygunner.
The proposed development would include the construction of a new single storey extension consisting of two resource rooms.
An adjoining link corridor would be constructed to the south and east side of the existing school, with roof mounted solar panels.
A number of ancillary and associated site works will also be carried out.
That application was submitted to the council on December 19, with a decision expected by February 21.
