The South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association assisted a walking group on Wednesday in Coumshingaun on the Tipperary/Waterford border after a "young person had fallen and banged their head".

In a statement, SEMRA said: "One of our team doctors was walking in the area and came across the group.

"Our team doctor assessed the injury and requested assistance from the team to get them down to an ambulance.

"They were quite close to the stile so they helped them to walk down to it and then put them into the SEMRA vehicle which then transferred them down to the road to wait for the National Ambulance Service ambulance.

"We wish the young person a speedy recovery, they were so close to the finish after a big day out."
