Gardaí in Waterford are appealing for information following a spate of vehicle break-ins across several residential areas of the city overnight.
Over 13 incidents were reported between May 5 and May 6 in the Ballygunner, Grantstown and Williamstown areas, where parked cars were broken into and ransacked.
In an appeal issued by Waterford Gardaí, officers urged the public to be extra cautious when parking vehicles in the evening.
"We are urging people to be extra vigilant when parking and locking their vehicles for the evening. Double check that car is locked. Park in a well-lit area, and importantly, if you see anything suspicious, phone 999/112 to report it at the time," the statement read.
Gardaí have obtained CCTV footage of suspects and confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051 305300, or to leave a voice message on the confidential line on 1800 666 111.
