Two Waterford Chambers shortlisted for national awards recognising business excellence

Both Waterford Chamber and Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber have been recognised among Ireland’s top-performing chambers in the lead-up to the 2025 Chamber Awards.

The shortlist, announced this week by Chambers Ireland, highlights standout projects from across the country - and Waterford is well represented with both chambers named finalists in multiple categories.

Waterford Chamber received nominations in three categories: Best International Project for its work building trade links with Märkischer Kreis, Germany; Event of the Year for its Off-Shore Wind Strategic Event; and Community Support Initiative for its efforts promoting diversity and inclusion in the region.

Meanwhile, Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber is shortlisted in two categories for Event of the Year for The Communications Series and Supporting Business for launching Ireland’s first Menopause in the Workplace Employer Support Pack.

The winners will be announced at a national ceremony on June 5 at the Killashee Hotel in Naas, Co Kildare. Awards will be presented across eight categories, with one Chamber also taking home the prestigious Chamber of the Year title.

Chambers Ireland CEO Ian Talbot praised the efforts of local chambers, noting their vital role in regional development and community engagement.

“Chambers across the country are active participants in the development of our regions, our towns, our communities – the places we call our own. The Chamber Awards is a celebration of how Chambers place business at the heart of their communities.

Through their work in supporting local economic development, Chambers take the lead in launching innovative campaigns, projects and policy proposals. Our goal in hosting this national awards ceremony is to promote this creativity and hard work.

Local Chambers collectively promote Ireland’s business competitiveness through a variety of creative projects and activities, particularly through the brilliant events they run which highlight what their local areas have to offer and attract local people and international visitors alike.

We look forward to the awards ceremony in June and I would like to wish all of the shortlisted Chamber applicants the very best of luck.”
