Uisce Éireann has lifted a Boil Water Notice for customers who are supplied by the Carrick On Suir (Crotty’s Lake) Water Supply. The notice was put in place last November
A Boil Water Notice impacting nearly 2,000 households in County Waterford for the past five months has been lifted, Uisce Éireann has confirmed.
The Boil Water Notice was issued last November for customers who are supplied by the Carrick On Suir (Crotty’s Lake) Water Supply. This, the State utility said, was due to operational issues water treatment plant.
In an update, issued this Friday, Uisce Éireann confirmed the Boil Water Notice has been lifted with immediate effect.
"Uisce Éireann can confirm that, following consultation with the Health Service Executive, customers on this supply can now resume normal use of the public water supply. This follows remedial works with consistent satisfactory sampling results," said a spokesperson.

Uisce Éireann’s Jim Fitzgerald, has acknowledged the impact of the notice on the community, saying: “Uisce Éireann regrets the inconvenience that the Boil Water Notice had on the community of Carrick-on-Suir. I would like to thank them for their patience and support while our drinking water experts worked to lift the Boil Water Notice as quickly as it was safe to do so.
Mr Fitzgerald has also thanked the elected representatives and the media for their assistance in sharing any relevant information during the period that the Boil Water Notice was in place.
