Gardai in Dungarvan are investigating the incident
Gardai in County Waterford have thanked members of the public for their assistance following an 'extremely frightening incident' earlier this week.
On Monday, a lone male armed with a knife entered Cappoquin Credit Union and threatened staff and customers before making off with a large sum of money.
"This was an extremely frightening incident for the staff and customers involved," said a gardai spokesperson following the incident.
Gardaí subsequently arrested a male, aged in his 50s, on suspicion of robbery and he has since been charged and is now before the court.
