Man attacked with hurley in Waterford as gardaí hunt two men over unprovoked attack
Waterford gardaí are appealing to the public for help after a man was attacked with a hurley in an apparent unprovoked attack earlier this week.
Gardaí are working to identify two males who were involved in the attack on a third male on the outskirts of Waterford city on Wednesday, April 2 at approximately 5pm.
"The assault took place in the Tramore Road Business Park. Two males believed to be in their early 20s wearing black or grey tracksuits with hoodies up and their faces covered approached a young man as he left his place of work in the business park and assaulted him with a hurley, causing him facial injuries," a Garda statement explained.
"They made their escape on foot towards Waterford City passing Dunphy’s Shop towards the Circle K garage on The Manor," gardaí added after combing CCTV.
The statement concluded: "This would have been a busy time on this road and we are asking anyone with information to contact Unit B at Waterford Garda Station on 051 305300 or via our confidential line on 1800 666 111.
