Waterford County Council has received a planning application for the construction of a large residential development consisting of 91 homes on the outskirts of Waterford City.
S&K Carey submitted the application which is seeking permission to build the development on the Killure Road in Kilcohan on a site of over 2.8 hectares adjacent to the Outer Ring Road.
The development would be a mixture of dwellings, from four, three, two and one-bedroom houses and apartments. Out of the 91 dwellings listed in the application, 51 of these will be houses while 40 will be apartments. The plans include two four-storey apartment blocks that will each contain 20 apartments per block.

Other associated site works are included in the plans such as bin and bike storage, carparking, site landscaping and a new vehicular entrance from Kill St. Lawrence Road as well upgrades to the existing vehicular junction onto Killure Road.
According to the Planning Report, this application is a standalone proposal although it does represent Phase One of a larger residential development. This larger development will include the construction of more houses, apartments and duplex units over time as well as other associated works such as connecting roads and park areas.
More details on this larger development will follow soon.
The Council is due to deliver their decision by 4 May 2025.
