Multiple Waterford roads to be closed to traffic over St. Patrick's Day weekend

Waterford City and Council have announced that a number of roads will close for the Dungarvan parade and fireworks display over the bank holiday weekend

Multiple Waterford roads to be closed to traffic over St. Patrick's Day weekend

As the bank holiday weekend fast approaches, Waterford City and County Council have issued a notice ahead of the festivities that certain roads will be closed to facilitate the Dungarvan St. Patrick's Day Parade.

From 6am, Sunday, March 16 until 6pm Monday, March 17, the Enterprise side of Grattan Square will be closed to traffic and Davitts Quay will close from 7pm until 10pm on Sunday, March 16 for the fireworks display.

The Ormonde Café side of Grattan Square will also close on Monday, March 17 from 6am until 6pm and road closures are also in place from Friary Roundabout to the junction of Rice Street (R911) and Mitchell Street from 1pm until 6pm.

The following roads will be closed on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 1pm and will reopen once the Parade has passed:

  • Sexton Street
  • Strandside Junction
  • Devonshire Bridge Junction
  • Grattan Square
  • Mary Street
  • Mitchell Street

 All Roads will be re-opened by 6pm at the latest on March 17, 2025.
