The search is now on for the next Miss Waterford to represent the county at the 77th Miss Ireland contest this June.

Young women across the county are invited to step into the spotlight and follow in the footsteps of last year's Miss Waterford Ella Power who raised a substantial amount of money for local charities in Waterford during her time with the crown.

21-year-old Ella, who is training to become a paediatric nurse, raised money to buy toys for the paediatric ward at University Hospital Waterford. She also collaborated with invicABLE Gym which caters for people with disabilities.

In recent years, the Miss Ireland franchise has raised over €350,000 for various charities such as Laura Lynn, Temple Street, Alzheimer’s Ireland, Pieta House, The Cari Foundation and The Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Each of the finalists will advance to the national event for a chance to claim the Miss Ireland crown at the final in Knightsbrook Hotel and Resort in Trim, County Meath on 14 June.

The winner of the Miss Ireland competition will receive a lucrative agency contract and a host of prizes as well as having the chance to represent Ireland next year at the Miss World Festival. The winner will also get a trip to Indonesia!

Commenting on the launch of the search, Director of Miss Ireland Brendan Marc said: "We’re calling all confident, driven young women in Waterford to seize this extraordinary opportunity. Miss Ireland isn’t just a pageant - it’s a launchpad for personal growth, advocacy, and making a difference. If you’re ready to challenge yourself and inspire others, we want to hear from you."

If you think you have what it takes, you have until 31 March to apply. You can find more information @missirelandorg on Instagram and Facebook.
