The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, claimed his enriching prize of €73,741 after matching five numbers plus the bonus in the draw on Saturday, January 4.
A lucky Lotto player from Waterford was one of FIVE players from across the country who collected winnings at National Lottery HQ in Dublin earlier this week.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, claimed his enriching prize of €73,741 after matching five numbers plus the bonus in the draw on Saturday, January 4.
The player, who purchased his Quick Pick ticket at the Centra store at Saint Lawrences Terrace, Lower Grange, revealed he initially refused to believe the win was legitimate until visiting the Lottery’s exclusive winner's room.
“I don't play the Lotto very often, but it was the day after the draw, and I had completely forgotten about it. I checked the numbers from the website and couldn’t believe they matched. I went to see what the prize breakdown was for the night and saw there was one Match 5 plus the Bonus winner – which was me,” he said.

The player immediately asked his partner to verify the win, who instantly burst into tears of joy. The delighted duo plans to use their life-enhancing prize for some much-needed home renovations.
