Have your say! Council seeks public views on plans for Villierstown Quay

Waterford City and County Council has invited the public to have their input on the proposed works to renovate the existing quay at Villierstown.
This project is set to include improved access to the River Blackwater, upgraded recreational facilities, and landscape improvements.

The aim of these enhancements is to boost local amenities, enhance health and wellbeing of locals, and support sustainable tourism in the area.

In accordance with Article 120 (3) of the Planning and Development Regulations (as amended), any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice (December 16, 2025), apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.

If interested, you can submit your views and feedback on all things related to the quay here, or alternatively, you can write to the Director of Economic Development, with the address being Waterford City & County Council, The Mall, Waterford. It should be clearly marked 'Villierstown Quay Enhancement Works', email is also accepted to outdoorrecreation@waterfordcouncil.ie. on the matter.

Please note, the closing date is Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
