Footage of the suspect was broadcast on RTÉ's Crimecall
Gardai are appealing for information following a brazen theft incident at a fast food restaurant in Waterford city earlier this year.
The incident, which happened in March, featured in this month's edition of Crimecall which was broadcast on RTÉ One television on Monday night.
During a CCTV segment, the suspect can be seen entering the restaurant and sitting down behind another customer who appears to be focusing on their phone.
"The suspect then waits a few minutes before reaching over the backrest of the seat (between them) and lifting the victim's bag," explained Garda Tara Brady.
"Our suspect then walks away taking the bag with him as he leaves the restaurant (below)," she added.

The suspect, who was captured on CCTV, is believed to be aged around 30 years old and is approximately 5'10" in height. He has black hair, and a black beard and was wearing white runners and all black clothing including a coat which had a fur-lined hood.
Gardai in Waterford are investigating and anyone who may recognise the suspect is asked to contact Crimecall at 1800 405050.
