Members of the public are being advised that members of An Garda Siochana will travel to a number of rural villages in County Waterford next week as part of a new community engagement initiative.
On Wednesday, December 11 the dedicated community van will be on location in the car park of Kilrossanty Community Centre (10am to 11.30), Stradbally Town Square (12pm to 1.30pm) and the car park at Rathgormack Church (2.30pm to 4pm).
"An Garda Síochána will be available in our community van to complete forms, discuss concerns, report crime or any other business that requires garda attention. The clinics provide an excellent opportunity for engagement with our local communities," said a spokesperson.
Gardai say while the initiative will commence in the locations mentioned, there are plans to extend it to other areas within Waterford’s Community Engagement Area during 2025.

Earlier this year, it was announced that a number of community vans, which can be used as mobile garda stations, had been deployed to garda divisions across the country.
They enable members of the force to travel to rural communities which are not served by a local garda station.
