Live music, fashion and fun at Tramore Races this August

The August Racing Festival at Tramore Races is a highlight for many on the sports, social and fashion calendars in the southeast. The festival takes place from Thursday August 15 to 20.

The Tramore four-day August festival sees visitors from near and far returning each year to enjoy great racing and a warm holiday welcome. Attendances at the seaside track go from strength to strength with last year’s festival attracting twenty thousand visitors in 2023.

The four-day festival consists of three national hunt and one flat race cards with all of Irelands top Jockeys riding over the four days. With a real festival atmosphere and a circuit of just seven furlong’s it is a great the chance to get up close to all action.

Always trying to improve and enhance the customer experience, Tramore racecourse have this year partnered with O’Driscoll’s Irish whiskey who are set to join the racecourse as their title sponsor of festival Marquee as well as a race sponsor on Saturday August 17.

The partnership will also include O’Driscoll’s Irish Whiskey entering into a pouring rights agreement for 2025/25.

Speaking about the partnership Michael Stafford, Managing Director of O’Driscoll’s Irish Whiskey commented,

"Tramore has always been a very enjoyable place to watch racing and we look forward to working with the Tramore team and build on this exciting new partnership.

"The highlight of the week is Saturday’s style evening where this year again Lyrath estate sponsor the most stylish person.

"The prize for the winner is an overnight stay for two people in the beautiful Lyrath Estate, for two nights with breakfast, an evening meal on one night, a spa treatment for each guest as well as €1,000 cash prize.

"This year we are delighted to announce fashion designer Christine Murphy founder or urban Aran will be our style judge for the day.

"Live music has always been a feature of the Tramore August festival and this year we are delighted to announce three very special acts that will join us.

"All the way from the USA the 19th Street band will join us on Thursday night, Friday night sees Richie Hayes and his band take to the stage while on Saturday night we are delighted to welcome Papa Zitas.

"Live music kicks off each evening in the O’Driscolls Irish Whiskey Festival Marquee at 8pm."

  • First Race: 5pm (4.20 if divide)
  • Hospitality : Sold out

Sunday 18th

  • Gates open 12 noon
  • First race: 2pm (1.30 if a divide)
  • Hospitality: Availability
  • Children's entertainment, clown, face painters and games

General information

  • OAP/Student €20
  • Punter pack €39pp (group of five or more) includes race day entry, race card, €6 drinks voucher, food voucher which can be used at any of our casual food outlets, Doolys fish & chips or the Public bistro restaraunt
  • Children u16 are free when accompanied by a paying Adult
  • A free Shuttle bus will operate one hour before and after racing in Tramore Thursday,Friday, Saturday (check social media for schedule and route)
  • Bus eireann normal services leave the city every 20 minutes to Tramore and is a great alternative way to come racing!
