An Irish college in Waterford have applied for planning permission to build three log cabins as accommodation for guests.

Coláiste na Rinne, in Dungarven, have sought permission from Waterford City and County Council to build "additional blocks of accommodation for adults in the form of 3 log cabin type units, additional parking bays and ancillary site works."

According to documentation submitted as part of the application, one log cabin will comprise of a communal kitchenette and lounge area, with an outdoor decking.

The other two log cabins will each be split into 12 separate sleeping spaces, with their own shower and WC facilities.

The planning application was lodged on Friday, February 2, 2024, and a decision is due by March 28, 2024.

Submissions by the public can be made until Thursday, March 7, 2024.
