LIVE: Demolition works taking place at site of Waterford fire this weekend

The partially collapsed roof of the Tycor Business Centre in Waterford city is set to be removed
Specialist demolition works are set to take place at the Tycor Business Centre in Waterford city this weekend.
A fire, which broke out in the Old Jute Factory last weekend, caused extensive damage to the roof and inside of the building.
As the clean-up operations continue, works are set to get underway on the controlled removal of the partially collapsed roof structure along Tycor Avenue.
Structural engineers, specialist demolition contractors, and asbestos contractors have been engaged by the Causeway Group to carry out the required structural assessments and to develop appropriate design methodologies for the works.
It is currently planned that these specialist demolition works will take place over the weekend under the supervision and direction of the appointed structural engineers.
Waterford City and County Council has notified the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) of the planned works.
Air monitoring will also be conducted throughout the works to provide ongoing reassurance and support the safe management of the operation.
Meanwhile, the Tycor fire response has progressed to a stage where clean-up around the site perimeter is substantially complete.
Clean-up operations will continue throughout the weekend on the external areas of private houses and gardens at Tycor Avenue, Griffith Place and Ard na Greine.
