HSE re-locates Covid-19 vaccination centre in Waterford to new premises

The HSE's Waterford Covid-19 vaccination services centre is being located to new premises.

From tomorrow (Tuesday December 6), the public can avail of dose one, dose two or a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in a facility at the former St Martin's School in Kilcohan.

The vaccination centre previously operated at the SETU Arena in Carriganore from April 2021 until the end of November 2022, when approximately 170,000 vaccines were carried out.

The Chief Officer of HSE/South East Community Healthcare, Kate Killeen White, said, "We are reaching a milestone in the HSE’s national plan for vaccinations, in overseeing the closure of the Vaccination Centre at the SETU Arena and movement of the service to the old St. Martins premises in Kilcohan, Waterford.

"Site Manager Claire Tully and her colleagues have done a brilliant job along the way. I am delighted that Claire and colleagues that had been serving at the SETU Arena up to its closure at the end of last week will be joining us to continue the service as it moves to South East Community Healthcare and the new location in Kilcohan, Waterford.

"I would like to thank everyone who availed of the SETU Arena and other facilities in the South East to get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families and their loved ones and their communities. Vaccines are working and are helping to prevent severe illness and the HSE’s new facility in Kilcohan, Waterford (in addition to three others in the South East) remains available as a resource in that regard."

Other HSE Covid-19 vaccination centres in the South East are located in Clonmel, Enniscorthy, and Kilkenny.

Vaccinations will continue to those who are homebound and residents of long stay residential care centres.

Appointments for Covid-19 vaccines can be made by clicking here, calling HSE Live on (1800) 700 700, or presenting at walk-in facilities.
