Permission granted for development of Waterford hurling club

Permission has been granted for the development of a Waterford hurling club.

The application submitted by Ballygunner Hurling Club was accepted by Waterford City and County Council this week (November 17) for the site at Bishopscourt, Ballygunner.

The development will consist of a number of changes; widening the existing site entrance which includes removal of the existing gate, wall and gate pier, removal of existing evergreen trees and perimeter fence, as well as widening of the existing entrance road, and laying a new concrete footpath and new tactile paving.

A perimeter paladin fence is proposed as well as a pedestrian gate, railings, concrete steps, landing and bollards, a sliding gate system, rendered blockwork wall, pier, capping and signage.

Plans also include the relocation of the existing flag pole, partial relocation of previously granted walking track, a proposed pedestrian crossing, line markings, and all associated site works.

The application was granted under three conditions.
