'Significant snowfall expected' - Met Éireann update severe weather warning
Met Éireann has updated its current status yellow snow-ice warning for the entire country.
In their updated forecast for the coming days, Met Éireann says it will be "very cold this week with showers of hail, sleet and snow, frequent across the southwest, west and north."
They say that these areas most especially can expect "some significant accumulations this evening and overnight."
They also warn that there will be widespread frost with icy stretches on untreated surfaces.
There is the potential for further significant snowfall in places on Thursday, according to the national forecaster.
Met Éireann will once again update their weather warning on Wednesday morning.
The current warning is valid from 6am on Tuesday until 12pm on Saturday.
