Samaritans to hold candlelit Christmas vigil in Waterford
Samaritans Waterford and South East are inviting the public to attend a candlelit vigil in the city before Christmas.
The charity group have organised the event to mark the longest and darkest night of the year, December 21.
The vigil will take place from 5pm to 7pm on that date at Cathedral Square in Waterford and all are welcome.
"We are doing this to remind people that we are there for them during their darkest hours, especially during the
Christmas period," organisers told Waterford Live.
"We will have tealights, hot chocolate and hot punch and we would be delighted if you could come by and show support to those that need us and those that have been affected by suicide," they added.
The vigil takes place from 5pm on Friday, December 21 at Cathedral Square.
