Someone in Waterford has just won big on the Euromillions

A Waterford woman has become the second winner from the county in a matter of weeks in the Euromillions 'Ireland Only Raffle' draw.

The unnamed woman, along with winners from Tipperary and Monaghan, descended on the National Lottery Office’s in Dublin on Wednesday to collect a total of €315,000 in prizes won in the EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ event on Friday, October 26.

The lucky Waterford woman was also one of ten winners of the €105,000 EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ prize from Friday, October 26.

The delighted woman who wishes to keep her win private purchased her winning ticket online at www.lottery.ie and she discussed how her life had been turned upside down after she received an email on the Friday night after the draw.

“I had no idea that there was a special raffle draw on that night so when I got the email to tell me that I had won €105,000, I really didn’t believe it," she said.

"I checked my actual numbers for the draw and I knew that I didn’t have any of them so I just thought that it must have been a mistake! It really is incredible though. This changes absolutely everything for me."

I need to take some time out and let my excitement die down before I make any decisions with the money. I now have an opportunity to be mortgage free but I’ll have to put some of the money towards some treats and maybe a winter holiday,” she added.

Elsewhere, it was an emotional day for a young Tipperary woman who was joined in the winners’ room by her parents and extended family who pledged to support her in having “the best possible start in life" with her €105,000 win.

“This really is a dream come true. It’s just incredible. None of my family believed me when I told them that I’d won it but I think it’s finally sinking in now that we’re in the Lottery offices!"

"I have an amazing family behind me so we’re going to make a plan for my future, maybe purchasing my own house in a couple of years’ time. It just gives me an enormous sense of freedom which I didn’t have last week so we’ll enjoy a family celebration over the weekend before the serious business of financial planning kicks-in,” she said.

The lucky Tipperary woman who wishes to stay anonymous purchased her winning ticket at the SuperValu store on Main Street in Cashel, Co. Tipperary.
