Waterford man who died in ladder fall named locally

A man who died after falling from a ladder in Waterford has been named locally as 52-year-old Patrick Drohan from Kilmacthomas.

Patrick was discovered dead at his home at around 4pm on Monday. It's understood he had fallen from a ladder while fixing a roof.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Patrick was a family man who lived locally and had a wife and four kids. He was a popular suckler farmer and was well known and well liked in the area and further afield in farming circles.

Patrick Drohan will be reposing at his residence at Scrahan, Kilmacthomas on Wednesday from 4.30pm until 7.30pm. His removal will take place on Thursday to Newtown Parish Church for Requiem Mass on arrival at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Waterford Council has issued an alert to motorists for Wednesday evening: "Please be advised of increased traffic volume expected from 3.30 pm to 9 pm along the N25 National Primary at Srahan near Kilmacthomas due to a Funeral, please proceed with caution."

May he rest in peace.
