Waterford mums set up cancer fundraiser after friends brain tumour diagnosis
A group of Waterford mums have set up a 'Cups for Cancer' fundraiser following a devastating diagnosis for one of their fellow mothers.
Christina Martin told Waterford Live that the group were inspired to set up the coffee morning after a friend and fellow mother at the local school received the life-changing news.
"A friend and mum at our school has recently undergone surgery for a brain tumour and this is how we feel we can help," Christina said.
The event will take place in the locality at Carrickpherish Library on Friday, November 2 at 10am.
The organisers say all are welcome, including children, and all donations made on the day will go directly to the Irish Cancer Society.
