Waterford IT company Radius Technologies, the south-east's leading provider of private cloud servers, business telecoms solutions and IT Managed services have recently been awarded both ISO 9001:2015 Quality standards and ISO 27001 Information Security.
The quality standards certification represents Radius Technologies commitment to the optimum quality management standards and ISO 27001demonstrates Radius’s assurance in following information security best practice.
According to Jerry Buckley, Managing Director Radius Technologies, implementing industry accredited European standards in information management and quality systems was a natural progression for the company.
The challenges facing businesses today in managing IT systems are substantial. Cyber threats like malware and ransomware viruses, GDPR breach and data theft are evolving on a daily basis and how companies’ access their information is changing. Managing this access as well as protecting the companies’ data efficiently is now paramount.
“Radius is operating for over 21 years and during this time we have seen our clients’ requirements change. All businesses now depend on technology, be it internet connectivity, email, accounts systems, EPOS or online banking. When companies look for technology partners to work with they look for differentiators, because it’s too important to get wrong and their business future depends on their service provider," he said.

Both standards took the company over 12 months to achieve as the criteria set for the quality structures is quite rigorous, with review mechanisms in place to constantly monitor and improve operations. However, Jerry noted the whole process was a
great team building exercise for Radius staff.
“With the new standards in place every department is aware of the processes to follow. As Radius grows over the coming years, with increasing staff numbers and new offices, we need to ensure there is a roadmap for quality and information management in place, for both Radius and our clients," Jerry added.
Plans to expand are currently afoot at Radius Technologies with the growth of the engineering and helpdesk team at the Waterford offices at Esker Business Park, Six Cross Roads.
The recently opened Dublin office continues to service the growing national client base with the recruitment of sales, engineering and account management positions ongoing.
The company has also doubled its data centre footprint to accommodate growth in Cloud Telecoms and private cloud server space.
