Waterford's Seamus Power aims to hold onto PGA Tour card this weekend
Waterford native Seamus Power goes in search of PGA Tour safety as he tees off at the Wyndham Open in Greensboro on Thursday.
The Wyndham is the last regular event on the PGA Tour and at the end of it, only the Top 125 players in the FedEx Cup standings will retain their exemption and tour card for next year.
As it stands, Power sits just inside that cut mark in 123rd place and having not been involved in last week's US PGA Championship, a number of players have made ground on him.
Despite that, Power is in a strong position and with the Tour's big hitters sitting out this week ahead of the FedEx play-offs, he looks to be safe. He could miss the cut and still maintain his Top 125 position.
Power tees off for his first round in Greensboro at 5.20pm (Irish Time) on Thursday evening alongside Americans Hunter Mahan and Chad Campbell.
