University Hospital Waterford is one of the most overcrowded in the country today
The latest trolley watch figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation today have revealed that 28 people are now awaiting a proper bed at the A&E department in University Hospital Waterford, more than double the 13 recorded at the hospital on Monday.
There are currently 22 patients on trolleys at the Waterford A&E department, while 6 are on already full wards. Elsewhere in the region, 42 patients are awaiting a proper bed at University Hospital Limerick, while 19 are in similar situation at Cork University Hospital
Limerick University Hospital is in fact the most overcrowded in the country today with 42 people awaiting a proper bed at their A&E department.
Nationally today, August 1, 357 patients are waiting for a proper bed, an increase of 3% on the same day last year.
