The number of patients on trolleys in Waterford on Tuesday (July 24)

There are eight people on trolleys and the ward at University Hospital Waterford on Tuesday.

There are eight people on trolleys and the ward at University Hospital Waterford on Tuesday (July 24), according to the latest trolley and ward watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The nationwide figure is 414, an increase of 26% on the same day last year when there were 328 patients on trolleys.

The hospitals with the highest numbers on Tuesday are Cork University Hospital (60), University Hospital Limerick (49) and Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (35). 

Other figures for Tuesday include South Tipperary General Hospital (20), Wexford General Hospital (1) and Kilkenny's St Luke's Hospital (19).
