Potential Presidential candidates to pitch to Waterford Council for support
Potential candidates for this year's Presidential Election are to be afforded the chance to pitch for support before Waterford City & County Council this month.
By resolution of the elected members of Waterford City and County Council, a special meeting of the Council will be held on Tuesday, July 31, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, The Mall, Waterford.
The single purpose of this meeting is to afford potential candidates for election as President of Ireland, the opportunity to attend and present to members of Waterford City and County Council.
The time allocated for each potential candidate will be a maximum of 30 minutes. Places will be allocated on a first come basis. A Presidential election was recently confirmed after Michael D Higgins announced his attention to seek a second term and Sinn Féin confirmed they would run a candidate against him.
Potential candidates can contact the Corporate Office of Waterford Council at 0761 10 2220 to arrange a time to attend. Closing date for accepting requests close of business Thursday, July 26.
